Our Trustees

Mr. P N Vasudevan

Mr. P N Vasudevan is the CEO and Managing Director of Equitas Small Finance Bank Ltd. Previously, he served as Executive Vice-President and Head of Consumer Banking at Development Credit Bank Ltd in Mumbai. He spent 20 years at Cholamandalam Investment and Finance Co Ltd, part of the Murugappa Group in Chennai, rising from Management Trainee to Vice-President and Business Head. Additionally, he was the Chairman of the South India Hire Purchase Association in 2005-06.

Dr. C K Gariyali

Dr. C K Gariyali, a postgraduate in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work from Delhi School of Social Work and a doctorate holder in Women’s Studies from Mother Teresa University, is renowned for her contributions to women's empowerment. She studied Poverty Alleviation at the University of Sussex and Women’s Empowerment at Queen Elizabeth House, Oxford. A 1972 batch IAS officer, she retired as Principal Secretary to the Governor of Tamil Nadu in 2007. Known as the "Mother of Self Help Groups of Women," she has written five books on women's empowerment and has extensive experience in health and welfare, having served as Secretary of Social Welfare and Health.

Mrs. D Sabitha

Mrs. D Sabitha, a veteran of the Indian Administrative Services since 1988, brings a wealth of experience to Equitas' Education Initiatives. Her extensive background includes pivotal roles as Additional Chief Secretary in Tamil Nadu's government, with a focus on project evaluation, funding, and implementation, especially in education. She has also excelled in fostering industrial infrastructure and facilitating investments in the MSME sector. With a deep understanding of social welfare and education, Mrs. Sabitha's expertise and administrative prowess make her an invaluable addition to Equitas.

Mr. Anoop Jaiswal

Mr. Anoop Jaiswal, a retired IPS officer from the 1980 batch, served the uniformed service for 35 years, culminating in his retirement as DGP in 2015. Despite a background in Physics, post-retirement, he has dedicated himself to education. His innovative approach involves explaining complex science subjects using simple toys. He has successfully implemented this concept in over 70 schools, enriching the learning experience for countless students.

Ms. Jayashree Nambiar

Ms. Jayashree Nambiar is the Principal of “The School” at Krishnamurthi Foundation India, Chennai, and has been an educator for over three decades. Her passion for education stems from its potential for engagement, freedom, and creativity. She specializes in teaching history, focusing on historiography and experiential learning, and has also taught English language and literature, as well as a course on media.
